Black Vase with Gold Rim

Handmade one-of-a-kind vase.

This vase was wheel thrown and trimmed. Then the vase needed to dry completely before it was fired to cone 06. After that, it was glazed in a black glaze. It was then fired again to cone 5 (even hotter) which makes the vase durable. The vase was adorned in gold on the rim and then underwent a third firing.

Each vase is made by human hands therefore pieces will show marks of the making process. Each piece is unique, built with attention to detail. Even the same pieces in the same colour will have some variations depending on the handling & glaze application. All wares have traces of hands at work.
