Classic Cobalt Mugs (Black Clay)

Handmade one-of-a-kind mugs made of black clay.

This mug was wheel thrown and trimmed. Once trimmed, a handle was attached. Then the mug needed to dry completely before it was fired to cone 06. After that, it was glazed with a cobalt blue glaze. It was then fired again to cone 5 (even hotter) which makes the mug durable and food-safe.

Each mug is made by human hands therefore pieces will show marks of the making process. Each piece is unique, built with attention to detail. Even the same pieces in the same colour will have some variations depending on the handling & glaze application. All wares have traces of hands at work.
